The Transformations
Janet must hold onto Tam Lin while he is transformed into a variety of creatures or objects either frightening or difficult to hold. There are usually multiple transformations in each version. Since multiple types of terminology are used across versions, different words for the same creature have been combines (ex: adder and snake).
I have not included 'Naked Man' in this tally, as I'm interpreting that as meaning the transformations are over, and not something intended to scare Janet away.
